Company History
Cerimon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was founded in November 2004 by Paul Sekhri with Ansbert Gadicke and Luke Evnin from MPM Capital. In October 2005, Cerimon completed a $70M financing with MPM Capital, Nomura Phase4 Ventures and OrbiMed Advisors. In its first year of business, Cerimon secured rights to two products, Simulect® and a diclofenac patch, for testing in new indications. In 2007, Cerimon obtained rights to conduct clinical studies on Simulect® for an additional indication. The Company is currently evaluating opportunities to in-license other clinical assets.

- February 2006 Cerimon acquires exclusive worldwide rights to Simulect® (basiliximab) for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease
- November 2006 Cerimon completes the formation of its Scientific Advisory Board
- March 2007 Cerimon initiates a Phase IIb study of Simulect® for the treatment of ulcerative colitis in moderate-to-severe, steroid-refractory patients
- September 2007 Cerimon initiates a Phase I study of its topical diclofenac patch
- September 2007 Cerimon acquires U.S. rights to market and sell an additional topical lotion formulation for diclofenac sodium
- December 2007 Cerimon initiates two Phase II/III studies of its topical diclofenac patch
